Accountability & Support Mentor

(PReviously called Case Manager)

Hours: 10–15 hours/week
Location: Selah Place, Elmwood (Winnipeg)

Selah Place is a Christ-centered home for mothers and their children. We are seeking a Support & Accountability Mentor to walk alongside moms through mentorship, discipleship, and accountability.

Role Overview:
The Support & Accountability Mentor meets one-on-one with each mom to encourage spiritual and personal growth, provide accountability, and help set and achieve practical goals. This is not a clinical or social work role—it is highly relational, grounded in faith, and focused on modeling Christ’s love while supporting moms as they build stable and healthy homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet regularly with moms for discipleship, prayer, and encouragement

  • Provide accountability in daily life, parenting, and spiritual growth

  • Assist in goal setting and tracking progress toward personal and family goals

  • Support moms in navigating challenges and celebrate victories together

  • Communicate with the Selah team to ensure consistent care and support

Qualifications:

  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for discipleship

  • Strong listening, encouragement, and accountability skills

  • Ability to build trust and walk alongside women with grace and truth

  • No social work degree required — a heart for mentorship is most important

Child Minder & Support

Hours: 5–8 hours/week
Location: Selah Place, Elmwood (Winnipeg)

Selah Place is a Christ-centered home for mothers and their children. We are seeking a Child Minder & Support to help provide safe and nurturing care for children while moms attend classes and programs.

Role Overview
The Child Minder creates a safe, welcoming environment for children on Tuesday mornings/early afternoons while moms are in class, and occasionally on Thursdays when volunteers are unavailable. This role also includes accompanying moms with new babies to pre-arranged appointments, such as doctor visits or EIA, helping them feel supported as they navigate important steps for their family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide child minding on Tuesdays (10:30–2:30, including lunch)

  • Occasionally provide coverage on Thursdays (1:00–2:30)

  • Engage children in age-appropriate play and activities

  • Ensure a safe, caring, and positive environment

  • Accompany moms to pre-arranged appointments (using Selah’s van, not your personal vehicle)

  • Support the Selah team by assisting moms with young children when needed

Qualifications

  • A caring, patient, and dependable personality

  • Experience with children (infants and toddlers especially)

  • Ability to provide a safe and positive environment for children

  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to serve families
